International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction opens for Business

Source: UN, 16 March 2004
Submitted by Ann Light

The International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction will be overseen by Bernd Carsten Stahl of De Montfort University and published by the Idea Group, as an official publication of the Information Resources Management Association. The first issue, for January to March 2005, is expected in late December 2004.

It will be priced at $85.00 US for individuals per year, and $195.00 US for institutions.

The Editor-in-Chief says that readers will find high-quality research papers regarding matters of the interaction between technology and humans. One of the main benefits will be that the paper will be accessible for a wide variety of scholars.

'It is the explicit aim of the journal to publish research that is accessible and that allows exchange of ideas outside of special interest groups in the discipline. The journal will facilitate discourses between information systems and other academic disciplines that are interested in technology and human interaction, including sociology and philosophy.'

The research that the journal intends to publish should therefore be interdisciplinary and include aspects from a wide variety of disciplines. Apart from aiming to be interdisciplinary, the journal says it will also aspire to provide a publication outlet for research questions and approaches that are novel and may find it difficult to be published in established journals following a rigid and exclusive structure. It is open to all research paradigms, be they empirical or conceptual, but requires that they be accessible and reflected.

See the UN call for papers section for more details of likely content, or click on the journal website below.

It is also possible to contribute as a reviewer if you are a researcher interested in the area of technology and human interaction. If this appeals, send a statement outlining your research interests and a CV including publications to the editor-in-chief at editor@IJTHI.net.
