The Knexus Community tackles Usability

Source: UN, 22 October 2004
Submitted by Ann Light

Knexus Community has invited Marty Carroll from The Usability Company to provide insights using real-life corporate case studies to demonstrate how companies have obtained a significant improvement in business and web traffic as the result of usability.

The organisers say that following questions, the visiting expert will be asked to leave the room and participating members will have the opportunity to engage in a roundtable discussion on usability, sharing experience and ideas, plus harnessing the collective wisdom of the member companies to identify solutions to key highlighted issues.

Particular areas of focus for the session include: User centred-design; ROI; Customer Experience & Usability Testing

This usability collaborative session is part of Knexus Community’s session calendar. The community addresses approximately 18 different strategic business issues each year. Subjects are chosen according to member demand and cover major customer, enterprise and partner related e-issues. Attendance is for corporate employees only, who must be members (fees are only discussed once a candidate has successfully been offered membership) and indeed all Knexus members are senior managers from blue chip companies (predominantly FTSE100 and Global 1000, across industries) with responsibilities for electronic/digital initiatives. Membership is not available to SMEs, vendors or consultancies.

It is heartening that such a group has chosen usability as one of its key issues this year.
