Best User Experience shortlist for Information Projects announced

The shortlist for the best user experience category of the International Information Industry Awards has been announced. The International Information Industry Awards offer the chance for the global information industry to celebrate the achievements of information teams, information, knowledge and content management projects as well as vendors and individual information professionals.

The shortlist for 'Best User Experience' is as follows:

• ARMadillo Online Services
• British Library Turning the Pages
• Google
• Marketresearch.com
• National Archives
• News@Nature.com
• Scopus (Elsevier)
• Snapshots International

There are another three project awards, with the following shortlists:
1. Innovation in Content Management, sponsored by Factiva
• Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
• Discovery Network Europe - Discovery Channel
• The Independent News and Media Multimedia Archive
• Department of Constitutional Affairs
• Northamptonshire Observatory Portal

2. Innovation in Knowledge Management
• Arup Projects
• Ask3 Knowledgebase, 3
• KPMG People Networks
• Open University Knowledge Network

3. Best intranet or extranet project, sponsored by ICC
• Boots plc
• Diamond Trading Company
• Deloitte.com
• Cosworth Racing
• Metro - West Yorkshire Public Transport Executive

And there are two further groups of awards being announced that night, as well as some individual awards.

Team awards
1. Best information/knowledge team in a business environment
2. Best information/knowledge team in a public sector environment
3. Best information/knowledge team in an academic environment,

Product awards
1. Best business information product
2. Best STM information product
3. Best Search Product

The awards, hosted by Online Information and Information World Review, will take place on 1st December 2004 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

'This year the nominations were of a particularly high standard.' commented Katherine Allen, Conference Director for Online Information. 'The shortlisted organisations provide a fantastic showcase for the achievements of cutting-edge information and knowledge management projects and teams.'
