Media Accessibility Special: e-consultancy interviews Trenton Moss

Trenton Moss of Webcredible gets to explain the value of accessibility and how it was that he set up his own company in this interview with Chris Lake of e-consultancy.

'The main hurdle we faced at the beginning, which most new companies face, is getting potential clients to take us seriously without any track record.' Moss explains that when he got face to face with potential clients, the power of the arguments convinced them.

The other tension that emerges from the interview is one that everyone in this area faces: 'It’s very dangerous to say that following the W3C guidelines isn’t enough (and that testing is the only way to implement accessibility), as this can dissuade people from trying altogether. The W3C guidelines are the best guidelines out there by far, and if you know how to use and interpret them and what their limitations are, then you can often create a very accessible website without user testing.'
