Media: Lycos reveals the 50 most Popular Searches of its 10 Year History

Source: Lycos, 29 September 2005
Submitted by Ann Light

If you haven't yet seen it and been appalled at its banality, pay a visit to inspect the Lycos Top 50 search terms, collated from 10 years of search up till 17th September 2005.

Some topics are veteran: Princess Diana at no 11 has been there almost as long as the company itself. Whereas Osama bin Laden, at no 42, is a johnny-come-lately outshadowed by War in Iraq at no 40 and September 11 at no 9.

Topping the chart is Pamela Andersen, which doesn't feel surprising, whereas finding 'N Sync at no 16 does - is there something I don't know about the worldwide popularity of this boy band?
