Media: Ajax causes a Storm on OK/Cancel

"Why Ajax Matters Now" by Jesse James Garrett was published on OK/Cancel over a month ago (September 16th to be precise) but the debate rages on in the comments section.

More than 60 comments make it one of the most discussed pieces I've ever chanced on, and some of the comments go beyond the discursive to the informative.

What started it? 'The rise of Ajax [is] analogous to the realization we had a couple of years ago, when it became apparent that maturing browser support for CSS and XHTML would finally allow designers the flexibility and ease of maintenance the Web had always promised but never quite delivered. In both cases, the technologies aren’t new; what’s new is our ability to make the most of them on the broadest possible scale.'

The comments discuss the promised revolution.
