Google Trends shows User Experience and Usability

Google Trends allows two terms to be compared for search frequency and also mentions in the news. The image here compares "Usability" (in blue) with "User Experience" (in red), revealing a fairly consistent showing for both over the last two and a half years.

Usability easily leads though, and should you wonder how "user-centred design" gets on, it doesn't seem to matter whether you put in 'centred' or 'centered' - even a combined result would still hardly feature. That term is not on the world's radar.

Interestingly, the breakdown of searches by major city - not shown here - puts Bangalore on top for usability, followed by Chennai, also in India. This represents the number of searches for the term "usability" as a fraction of all searches conducted in the city. Bangalore also has the most searches for "user experience"! Now what does that mean?
