Senior UE Consultant / Information Architect - London

An opportunity has arisen to join a team of 10 user experience analysts within an internal consultancy for this large, global investment bank in Canary Wharf.

Working on highly interactive applications to define interaction standards for a leading financial services company, the team is currently based in the USA and this will be the London office’s first UE hire. The User Experience / Usability Analyst / Information Architect (IA) will research, plan, design and document user interfaces for web-based, hand-held and desktop applications.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL...
- Be detail oriented, have excellent communication, presentation and client management skills
- Be comfortable with the standard IA process and look for ways to improve it
– Understand and have opinions about current industry best practices, experienced with designing transactional user interfaces
– Balance an academic interest in best practices with tactical solutions
– Desire to define innovative solutions and publish in industry forums
– Want to develop a design pattern library
– Manage client expectations and own time efficiency
– Enjoy collaborating with product owners and business analysts to design solutions.

THE IA WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
– user research
– personas, feature maps and prioritization
– sitemaps
– wireframes
– functional specifications (or annotated wireframes
– user testing)

You will have a level of skill equivalent to at least 5 years of experience working as an information architect / experience architect. A portfolio of sample work must be reviewed before an interview will be scheduled. This role may initially be offered as a contract role for 2/3 months prior to converting to a full time employee.

Desirable skills include: Experience with Web application design (AJAX / FLEX technologies), experience with interactive agencies, good writing skills, financial industry experience.
