Sunderland University’s ide@s group is once again running its popular short course in usability commencing 17th March 2008. This course is an absolute must for anyone involved in the design or development of interactive products or web-sites, looking to better understand the needs of their users.
Delivery is by eight evening class sessions that combine traditional teaching methods with practical, hands-on experience and focussed group discussions. Each workshop is delivered over two evenings. All workshops are delivered by our team of internationally recognised usability experts, who have over 40 years combined experience in the field. The workshops are:
- Workshop 1: Inspection Methods This workshop addresses the popular inspection methods, what influences good and bad evaluations, as well as how best prepare and apply them to maximise results.
- Workshop 2: Understanding Users This workshop covers methods used to gather information about the potential users of digital products or services and how to make use of user data through design tools such as personas and scenarios.
- Workshop 3: User Testing This workshop focuses on the key factors involved in the planning of user tests, the process of conducting a user test, selecting usability measures, and the analysis and reporting of test data.
- Workshop 4: Interaction Design The final workshop draws on concepts and knowledge from the other workshops to bring together this course on User-Centred Interaction Design and Evaluation.
In 2007, the ide@s group delivered workshops throughout the UK to major software development companies - now it’s your chance to take advantage of their expertise and enrol on this unique course. Places are limited due to the interactive nature of the course, so please book early to avoid disappointment!
