Senior Usability Manager - London

Deadline: 11 July 2008
Source: RedEye optimum.web, 27 June 2008
Submitted by Keith Simpson

optimum-web: Senior Usability Manager – Web Usability, Accessibility, HCI (Central London)

Excellent salary and package incl. Health Insurance, Pension Scheme, Share Options (after a qualifying period), New Business Reward Scheme, 25 Days’ Holiday

We are a long established usability and accessibility consultancy that helps businesses deliver an excellent experience for people visiting their websites. With clients in the public and private sectors, we work with well-known names including the NHS, Direct.gov, Esure, and William Hill. Due to business expansion, we are now looking to recruit a Senior Usability Manager to join our small, lively team.

This is a great opportunity to work for a fast growing company that is operating at the forefront of the usability sector. We are part of the £5million RedEye digital services group employing 50 people, although we operate as a separate specialist usability unit and centre of excellence within the larger company. Our division comprises a small friendly team of 7 committed usability professionals.

To succeed with us you will need to be a passionate usability professional with significant experience of implementation, web accessibility and HCI. As a Senior Usability Manager you will take full responsibility for client projects from proposal writing through to final delivery, providing tight management of people, financials and deliverables at every stage. You will also be expected to contribute to new business development activities, so your presentation skills should be strong.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- A UK-recognised qualification either in HCI or computer science, psychology or a related subject which included an HCI module
- Be highly skilled at task script development
- Have extensive experience of organising testing sessions, moderating, analysis and report writing
- Have managed people within a fast moving usability environment
- An good awareness of current web accessibility issues

Additionally, you must have an excellent command of English, the ability to work as part of a team and independently, and be permanently based in the UK.

To apply for either role, please send your CV and a covering letter to new@optimum-web.co.uk. If your skills, experience and keen interest in usability match ours, we’ll get back to you very quickly.
