Working in the User Experience department at Vodafone Global Marketing, as a Principal User Experience (UE) Manager with the team in Düsseldorf you will be responsible for the User Experience of customer-facing digital touch points. Liaising with key stakeholders globally, you will work closely with the Senior UE Manager to coordinate and manage UE programmes. Managing a team of UE managers to define and deliver a best-in-class user experience from Vodafone products, you will provide thought leadership and quality direction for programmes and projects led by the team.

The role of Principal User Experience ( UE ) Manager will be a key position within the team.

PRINCIPAL USER EXPERIENCE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing UE specification and implementation activities, ensuring stakeholders are identified and their needs understood
• Maintaining and operating process checkpoints across programmes and projects in order to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of UE implementation work
• Providing appropriate support and advice on UE issues to other teams
• Encouraging user-centric thinking and practices across UE implementation related activities and innovative approaches on terminal UE projects

PRINCIPAL USER EXPERIENCE MANAGER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related topic
• A sufficiently high-level understanding of technology to allow an undaunted and informed assessment of the likely impact on User Experience design
• Major experience in a commercial product or service development environment, including sound experience in mobile telecoms, from consumer-oriented products, including international experience with significant exposure to human factors and the usability elements of a product development environment
• Excellent knowledge of the user-centred design process, sensitive to the business effects of UI decisions
• Proven skills and track record in leadership, people management and project management
• Proven record of a strong and consistent user focus, unfailingly putting the user and their needs ahead of features and technology
• Proven ability to drive effective delivery in cross-functional projects in a fast-moving, high-technology environment working with both internal and external resources
• English language skills to business level

Ideally, you will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with an awareness of the organisational and cultural factors in working across an international group gained by experience. With a positive attitude in the face of challenges, you can motivate you and your team to succeed, and have a strong ability to influence and provide thought leadership up to executive management levels.
