Information Architect - Edinburgh

EXPERIENCED INFORMATION ARCHITECT required IMMEDIATELY for fixed term contract

An experienced Information Architect is required by a leading Edinburgh-based design agency to deliver the information architecture for a key web project for one of our most important clients. We require you to develop the navigation, organization, interaction design, and business/user process engineering for this leading-edge Web solution, working in the context of a known CMS solution and developed user profiles and scenarios.

You will lead card sorting workshop with internal and external users, and apply this knowledge to translate user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into world-class, dynamic information resource for our client. You will be expected to develop site architecture deliverables (site map, page schematics, and user flows, related interaction specs) for client signoff. You will liaise with our designers and developers to prepare the project for visual design, production and build, and will be supported directly by our project management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead card sorting workshops with internal and external resources
- Responsible for concept generation and modelling
- Define site structures and generate task/process flows
- Conduct page schematics/wireframe design and solution prototyping
- Lead usability workshops with external users based on prototypes and visual design concepts
- Present concepts and progress to clients

EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in design-related discipline
- Prior client-facing experience in information design for web-based applications
- Well versed in user-centered design methods and techniques
- Well versed in latest academic discourse regarding usability, accessibility, and UX design
- Proficient to expert in: Visio/Graffle, Microsoft Office, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills
- Excruciating attention to detail
