Interaction Designer - Cambridge, UK

Instrata is a people-centred strategic research and interactive design consultancy, developing innovative ideas for products and services for major technology companies. Instrata consists of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, anthropologists, technologists and strategists. It is based in Cambridge and operates internationally.

Instrata is looking for an outstanding interaction designer to help develop and design new solutions for a broad range of products including interactive devices, mobile handsets and services, software applications, web sites and product concepts. This role will offer the designer the opportunity to be at the forefront of world-class concept development. The designer will be expected to explore novel interaction paradigms and to contribute to the generation and design of prototypes.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
• A deep understanding of user centred design methodologies
• Ability to produce high quality user interaction designs
• Demonstrated analytic and creative abilities
• 2-7 years project experience
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to communicate complex processes at all levels
• Excellent project management skills, showing the ability to prioritise and plan activities, taking factors such as deadlines and resource requirements into account
• Ability to work independently and show initiative, as well as work as a member of a team
