Linking Industry with Academia

London-based fhios, a customer experience research consultancy, has developed an innovative internship programme, aimed primarily at postgraduate students in the process of completing, or who have completed their studies. The objectives of this programme are to strengthen links with academia and industry, and to allow students to gain valuable work experience within the emerging and rapidly growing customer experience and insight industry.
Founded in 2002, fhios has successfully conducted over 400 customer experience and usability research projects across over 30 countries, covering areas such as usability, eye tracking, concept testing, brand perception and competitive benchmarking for clients such as HSBC, Harvey Nichols, Diageo, ,Motorola, Hilton, The London Stock Exchange and Orange, fhios is providing several paid internship placements per year, full-time or part-time at 2-3 months per placement.
The fhios Internship Programme is led by Dr Martin Hicks, Senior Research Consultant, responsible for developing programme partnerships with universities offering customer experience or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) related courses. Currently, fhios is supporting a doctoral training programme with the University of Nottingham.
