Computer Use is Linked to Deep Vein Thrombosis

Source: BBC, 28 January 2003
Submitted by Ann Light

The BBC features a story this morning about the first diagnosed case of e-thrombosis, discovered in a man using his computer 18 hours a day.

"Health threat from computer use" echoes the European Respiratory Journal in reporting the case of a young man from New Zealand who nearly died after long periods of physical inactivity in front of his computer, developing a massive blood clot in his leg veins, which broke off and travelled to his lungs.

Latest: a whole series of messages about people's bad computer use habits and the strains, etc associated with them has gone up as the day progresses.
